Thank you for your interest in this multi-stakeholder approach to codes of conduct and social standards, which is unique in Germany. The Round Table brings together representatives of the private-sector, trade unions, non-governmental organisations and government. It provides a forum for an exchange of experience from a wide range of perspectives and branches.

The Round Table has a declared objective: to improve social standards in developing countries - mainly at suppliers or production facilities of German Companies. This is to be achieved through voluntary corporate codes of conduct. Based on the exchange of experience, recommendations for the introduction, monitoring and verification of codes of conduct are being elaborated.
